In a recent interview with Inquirer, Melissa McCarthy talked about her upcoming action-comedy “Spy,” which has her star opposite Jason Statham, and recalled a hilarious dance floor maneuver that involved our favorite Brit.
“I had two different fights with Jason,” Melissa happily reported. “At a certain point, when I was wrestling him to the ground on a dance floor, I suddenly thought, ‘What am I doing? What’s happening?’ We had been wrestling for so long. We were trying to pretend to dance but we ended up taking each other down.”
The “Bridesmaids” star recalled, “I thought, Jason does this stuff all the time. I was dying. I could barely breathe. It was so hard. At one point, we were both on our knees. I couldn’t get up because it was the 10th or 15th time we had done it. I was too tired. I thought, ‘He’s probably going to be able to spring up and be ready to go.’ I looked at him and he went, ‘I can’t get up.’ That made me feel better. I was like, ‘I am so glad you feel winded too because I am dying.’ It was an absolute blast.”
Melissa promised, “Jason Statham is so funny in it (‘Spy’). I mean, crazy. ‘Spy’ is a wild ride.”
If their fun on set is any indication of their on screen chemistry, we are certain the audience (us included) will have a blast from beginning to end.

Back in May, Variety took a trip to Budapest, Hungary and sat down with actress Melissa McCarthy for an exclusive interview about her upcoming projects. One of them happens to be the Paul Feig directed action-comedy “Spy,” coming out on May 22, 2015, that has her team up with Jason Statham.
Paul Feig with a young fan in Budapest, Hungary
Paul Feig, director and writer of the upcoming action-comedy “Spy,” responded to one of our tweets on Twitter and let us know how much he enjoyed working with our favorite Brit Jason Statham.
Paul Feig: Jason Statham is the greatest. Hands down. Been a fan for years and to work with him is an absolute dream come true. Love him! Read Original Tweet
If he intended to make us jealous, well, he most definitely succeeded. Just the thought of meeting the man we so much admire gets us to stumble over our own two feet, so kudos to Paul for keeping it together behind the cameras.
Paul also revealed the name of Jason Statham’s character in “Spy” to us, so it’s impossible to hold a grudge against him.
Paul Feig: Please quote me. I think you’re going to love Spy. Get to know the name Rick Ford. You won’t forget it come next year. Promise.” Read Original Tweet
Of course we are going to love “Spy,” Paul. To watch Jason Statham portray an overconfident yet clumsy spy will be incredibly amusing, more so now that we know his catchy name.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson shared another fantastic photo of him and our favorite Brit via his Instagram. Judging by Jason Statham’s unusual wardrobe, this snapshot seems to have been taken on the set of “Spy” in Budapest, Hungary, where the action-comedy is being filmed right now. Another indicator would be that 50 Cent posted also photos of him together with their co-stars Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne on the same day and in the same outfit.
“Spy” (previously known as “Susan Cooper”) is written and directed by Paul Feig and stars Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Jude Law and Rose Byrne. The film is scheduled to be released in the US and UK on May 22, 2015.
Lovely Renáta met our favorite Brit, Jason Statham, last Thursday, April 24, 2014 in front of his hotel in Budapest, Hungary. She let us share her gorgeous photo, and once again, we are touched by all the love he has received so far while filming “Spy” in the capital.
It was on 24 April, after he came back from work to his hotel. He smiled a lot! :) It was just 2-3 minutes, because we did 3 pictures (for me and for 2 other girls) and he went in! :)
Be on the look out for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Jason Statham out and about in London, UK today. The rapper shared this cool selfie with our favorite Brit on his Instagram and said, “Me and my boy Jason chilling.”
50 Cent has joined the cast of “Spy” not long ago and reunites with Jason Statham in Paul Feig’s action-comedy, after they both appeared in the 2010 Géla Babluani-directed thriller “13.”
Have a fun night out, boys!
