Jason Statham’s “Mechanic 2” set to start filming on October 1, 2014

The IMDb Page of “Mechanic 2” has been updated with some very interesting information, stating that the second installment will begin shooting on October 1, 2014. Furthermore, several filming locations overseas and a summary of the plot line were added, too.

Jason Statham in the 2011 Simon West-directed “The Mechanic”

The first installment was filmed in the US states Louisiana, Illinois and Michigan, while the sequel’s listed filming locations are in Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket – Koh Lipe), Australia (Sydney), Bulgaria (Varna), and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro – Sugarloaf Mountain).

Synopsis: Arthur Bishop thought he had put his murderous past behind him when his most formidable foe kidnaps the love of his life. Now he is forced to travel the globe to complete three impossible assassinations, and do what he does best, make them look like accidents.

The story line makes us wonder who that mysterious woman is and why she wasn’t mentioned in the first film. We assume Bishop has just met her and settles down with her as part of his new life, but he can’t escape his old profession and skills when her life is suddenly in danger.

All of this sounds already very exciting, and we can’t wait to follow Bishop’s new mission that will bring him to so many beautiful places around the world. However, none of this information should be considered official (or reliable) until it is confirmed by the film studio.

  1. This sounds remarkably like Killer Elite. But, as always, I’m in because it’s jason.
It would be cool to see Mini Anden in it as the same “love interest” as the first. And maybe Steve got out of the car before it exploded? Could Ben Foster come back? This would be a formidable opponent as his protege.
    Just some random thoughts…

    1. The love interest bit does sound familiar but I personally considered “Killer Elite” to be more about the British elite unit than the girl Jason’s character reunited with. I don’t think Bishop was serious about Sarah. She seemed more of a distraction to him, someone he could casually sleep with. But who knows, right? As for Steve, I’d like to see Ben Foster return but I’d rather learn more about Bishop’s past and why he doesn’t let anyone get close to him. Was there a woman that broke his heart in the past? Or why is he the way he is?
