*UPDATED* Jason Statham’s horrific accident on set of “The Expendables 3” caught on camera

UPDATE October 9, 2014: We’d also like to give a BIG shout out to the focus puller, the cameraman and one grip who were preparing for the shot on a dolly that day. They spotted the truck with Jason in it on time and jumped in the water before the dolly was hit. We have nothing but the utmost respect for the people working behind the cameras, because they ARE the backbone of every film production.

IGN shared an exclusive clip from the extras included on the unrated edition of the “The Expendables 3” Blu-ray, which brings us back to the day when a stunt goes horribly wrong and Jason Statham finds himself in a truck under water in the Black Sea in Bulgaria.

To watch with our own eyes what exactly happened that day makes us even more grateful that our favorite Brit kept his cool and managed to resurface on his own so quickly. He truly is THE most badass actor in Hollywood and his work ethic is nothing short of praiseworthy.

    1. That’s very sweet of you to say, Marita. Although we don’t know him like his loved ones do, he’s also very precious to us and one of the few people we truly admire in so many ways.

  1. It was so upsetting watching the accident and this proves to me not only is he the best action star but also a super-tenacious person in every difficult and unpredictable situation.I have to say I really, really love him.He always deserves the best.

    1. We hear you, Iman. We felt sick for hours after we watched the video. It’s impossible to imagine what he must have felt like in that horrific moment, and as you already pointed out, he’s such a strong-willed individual who handled this sickening situation the best way possible.

  2. Unfortunately this video shows only one half of the heroic story. Nobody mentioned in this video, that the truck hit the dolly, where the focus puller, the cameraman and one grip were preparing for the shot.. They were lucky that they saw the truck seconds before the impact on the dolly, and jumped in the water.. I respect Jason Statham a lot, but I respect also the crew! Without their work, sometimes very risky, there will be no movie. Sometimes the best shot is at the most dangerous spot on the set, and the cameraman, the focus puller and the grip are there to make Jason Statham looking good in this action scene!

    1. Thank you for sharing the other part of this heroic story with us. We have nothing but the utmost respect for any film crew and we truly hope these brave guys recover quickly (we’d be more than happy to mention them on here by names and give them a shout out as well). We are certain that Jason feels the same way about the people working behind the cameras, because they ARE the backbone of every film production. As you already pointed out, their job is to make the actor look good in front of the camera, and most of the time, we, the viewers, don’t consider the dangerous situations they put themselves into every day to get the right angle for the best shot. They do deserve more recognition because in many cases they are the real heroes.

  3. Thanks mods for giving a shoutout to the crew members that Mr. Satham and an unknow member of the picture car team almost killed maybe look at the f****** callsheet and give credit where credit is due.

    1. No problem, man. Unfortunately, we are not in possession of the callsheet from that day or we would have gladly added their names.

  4. I know that Jason is a good actor but after going through this came to know that he is a good human being.

Hero’s are those who act fast to rescue someone and here is our best actor.

    1. Yes, Jason is so much more than just a good actor. He really seems like a wonderful person who doesn’t let all this Hollywood illusion of fame get to him and remains humble and is so sweet with his fans.

    1. That’s mildly put. We already felt horrible just watching the video, it’s impossible to imagine what all of them went through that day even if no one got hurt. It’s still an incredible shock.

    1. Haha We love how you put that. The first time we watched it, we were just as excited about it especially because he watched “Downton Abbey.” Great commercial with our favorite Brit.

        1. Yes, it looks like there was someone else in the truck. Probably the one filming Jason from the side or so. No idea, to be honest.
