Jason Statham’s “Heat” retitled “Wild Card” and rated R

“Wild Card” (previously known as “Heat”) is based on William Goldman’s 1985 novel of the same name and a remake of the 1986 “Heat,” starring Burt Reynolds. Jason Statham will portray the main character Nick Wild (named Nick Escalante in the novel) who is a recovering gambling addict and finds work to provide protection to his friends.

This is the first film project produced by Jason Statham and Steve Chasman’s production company “SJ Heat Productions, LLC.” Directed by Simon West (“The Expendables 2,” “The Mechanic”) with the screenplay written by William Goldman and rated R for strong violence, language and some sexuality/nudity, “Wild Card” is still awaiting a US release date.
